Our Team

Our school exhibits the long and wonderful history of the potter’s craft, which traces through the history of civilization itself. Mudslingers’ experienced teachers and member-staff offer hands-on assistance and inspiration for making functional, whimsical, and sculptural ceramic pieces. Frequent firings of our high-fire stoneware kilns allow students to see on-going results.

We are a team of individuals with different backgrounds but similar passions in creative art. Read more about us below. We’d love to get to know you and share our love of pottery!

Cassie Liposack, Owner

Cassie Liposcak

Cassie has always immersed herself in the arts and the creative process. As a child, she was heavily involved in music, dance, and art.  As an adult, she has worked in music recording, live audio engineering, and touring. She has even enjoyed success as a hairstylist.

Cassie received a degree in Agribusiness Management with an emphasis in Horticulture at Texas State University. She started a small business in Colorado doing creative floral and plant arrangements.

Cassie happened upon Mudslingers in the Spring of 2014. She has always enjoyed working with nature and clay. She took several classes with John and eventually became his assistant. After John passed away early in 2019 she took the reins and has helped keep the studio going ever since.

Cassie is now the managing partner of Mudslingers. She teaches several of the kids classes and takes care of the day-to-day operations of the studio.

Kaito Troke, General Studio Manager

Kaito Troke

Kaito (K-(EYE)-toe) has a passion for working with his hands and teaching others. As an introvert who loves people, he finds pottery, ceramics, and art in general are a way to reach out and connect with people. While he studied ceramics in high school as well as in college, he’s been mostly self-taught here at Mudslingers since the summer of 2018 and has been teaching classes and lessons for almost as long. He’s a dedicated instructor who always seeks to improve himself and the quality of his classes. If you have an interest or a budding passion in pottery, we hope you’ll join one of his classes to experience the joy of pottery and ceramics!

Kaito is also our General Studio Manager. He takes care of everything behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Katy Human

Katy Human

Katy is an enthusiastic pottery hobbyist whose friends and family have more pots than they can deal with. She's working on form and consistency: stackable bowls with smooth insides, mugs with reliable handles... She loves helping new students find joy in imperfection and sharing tips and ideas with potters ready to take it a notch up.

Katie Koch

Katie started taking pottery classes in 2013 and has been hooked ever since. She's been teaching pottery for about five years at three different pottery studios in Colorado. She loves teaching students of all ages from all walks of life. She specializes in both wheel throwing and functional hand building.

When not potting, Katie can be found hiking or cross country skiing with her dog (and pottery assistant) Sophie.

Ashley Worst

Meet Ashley Worst, Mudslingers' newest instructor. Ashley graduated from Bethany College (WV) with bachelor's degrees in Equine Management and Visual Arts, and a Master's in Teaching, and spent most of her time in the ceramics studio helping with classes and tech work (and pretty much everything else that comes with clay). During and after college, she has worked at a production studio, has helped with summer art camps, and has tried to make it to NY to woodfire with friends as much as possible. Ashley moved to Colorado in 2021- working in libraries and at a local horse boarding facility, and is thrilled to be back in the studio to share her knowledge and love of clay with anyone and everyone!

Judith Erhard, Operation Manager

Judith Erhard

Judith grew up in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany. There, she studied art in school but discovered her true passion for ceramics when she moved to Colorado in 2014. Since taking her first pottery class here at Mudslingers in Louisville, she has nurtured her artistic, creative and technical skills into a true talent for ceramics. Her aim is to develop pieces that can be used in everyday life with a focus on beauty, practicality, and functionality. Now, participates in art and craft shows locally on a regular basis.
Judith started to teach pottery classes at Mudslingers in 2018. She is dedicated to her students as she teaches them not only the fundamental techniques of pottery but also having fun while doing it.
When she isn’t teaching, she takes care of correspondence with customers, students and members. She also does all the class schedules and updating the website.

Kendra Moran

Kendra Moran

Kendra is a full time artist and founder of Being Sacred Art. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in painting, drawing and ceramics from Southern Illinois University. She strives to surround herself with everything handmade and loves to share this joy with others. She believes objects that are made by hand hold so much power and bring us into presence during creation and use. Her work explores concepts of spirituality, ceremony, sublime nature and the divine feminine. She has seven years teaching experience working with undergraduate, elementary and high school art students and is excited to teach in the Mudslinger's community. She loves guiding students to build confidence and explore creativity on the wheel and looks forward to seeing you in the studio!

Claire Pittman

Claire moved to Colorado 13 years ago from her hometown of Memphis, TN. She grew up taking art classes, and got into ceramics a few years ago by taking her first class at Mudslingers. She fell in love with it and tries to get into the studio when she's not hanging out with her three daughters.

She teaches some of our kids classes and helps out around the studio wherever she is needed. Most of the time she is in the studio, she has her big pup, Penny, with her.
